'Bright' and Pretty Ensuite

Cream and White. I ventured into an area I used to truly struggle with! I have to say the easiest way to decorate or design for me is to find a point of inspiration. After years of pinning and screen shots we finally took the plunge and redesigned, renovated, flipped, gutted, our ensuite bathroom.

The new free standing tub opens up so much space. I had no idea how much I would enjoy being able to walk up to the side windows.

This pokey little cubby of a shower was repurposed into the new toilet area. The original entrance was moved with a new wall into the master bedroom to create more space so that we could pull off this redesign.

This is where you can really see the benefit of stealing some space from the master bedroom. Dual sinks is a great idea...sharing that small square didn't really work. Well, actually we did make it work for 16 years! We were also in desperate need of storage which would work better for us. Prior to the reno our towels and paper products were all kept in our clothing closet.

The new wall meant having to come up with a different door solution. I have to admit that we had to get used to the amount of light coming from behind the sliding door.j However it does add a feature to the master bedroom.

I love the idea of marble vanity tops however didn't really trust myself and wanted a more durable product. These countertops are made of quartz.

We came up with this design idea years ago. I have to admit we waffled back and forth regarding moving major elements around or not. Then back to 'do we just do it?'. Finally deciding that we would regret not taking the plunge into gutting, redesign, and full on flipping we went for it. We hired a wonderful team here in Calgary who was willing to work with our design idea's and product sourcing.
